LRI has served the Lincoln community for more than 30 years. In May 2007, LRI opened Lincoln’s premier patient-focused Imaging and Interventional facility in the Lincoln Medical Park, near 56th and Pine Lake Road adjacent to Madonna Proactive. The newly constructed facility features state-of-the-art technology in a patient friendly environment.
LRI currently serves BryanLGH Health Services, the Nebraska State Penitentiary, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, and Crete Area Medical Center with a patient population that extends well beyond the Lincoln area.

Our History
Lincoln Radiology Imaging & Interventional (LRI) was officially established on May 1, 1973 by Charles Newell, M.D. and Vernon Westburg, M.D. As medical technology and treatment modalities emerged rapidly, the founders of LRI sought to make significant contributions to patient care in the Lincoln community by providing superior radiology services.
As the demand for radiological services grew and technology involved expanded, so did the practice. Now, more than 30 years later, the group is comprised of 8 board-certified physicians who cover every facet of radiology. LRI radiologists offer patients and referring physicians access to imaging sub-specialists with experience and expertise in such areas as mammography, ultrasound, CT with 3-Dimensional Imaging, MRI, MRA, CTA, PET, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology.
